EXPERIENCE: WTCH / WOWN Shawano August 1997 to current
Responsibility’s:
Originally hired to engineer sports broadcasts, and assist in production. Promoted
within the first month of work to afternoon drive from 2 until 6. Served as
talent for several remotes. Filled in as host of morning show 6 weeks after being
hired. Promoted to Music Director 2 weeks after that. Also took an active roll in
covering High School sports play by play. I was also offered another promotion to
become Program Director for WJNR in Iron Mountain during that time period.
Currently I am working as the Operations Manager and hosting the Morning Show.
Accomplishments:
Once promoted to doing afternoon drives I had to create a show. I wanted a
afternoon show to reflect my self, high energy and fun! I have accomplished that.
When promoted to Music Director I reorganized the music rotation system that
was in place to be more efficient, and generating longer listening.
Eventually, helped change to a new format smoothly, and learned how to operate
the MOM computer system to create music logs.
Also, created a updated music clock to spread out songs.
Became the most requested air talent at the station to cover remote broadcasts.
I also became involved with my listeners, at remotes and public service events.
Once again when moved to mornings I created a new show. Handled all show
preparation material. Booked guests, kept the show active, and exciting.
The promotion to Operations Manager has certainly been exciting. I am
responsible with a great deal of the day to day operations. I feel I have quickly
acclimated myself to this new role.
